Capture customer insights before the quote disappears

A customer insight is the exact thing they said (or did) that should change what you build - stored so it can come back when the theme returns. It is not a sentiment dashboard and not a full interview repository.

The failure is timing. The best sentence of the week arrives mid-call. You mean to write it down. By Thursday it is a vague “people want simpler billing.”

Catch it in their words

Right after the call, write or voice-note the sentence. Not your synthesis. “I don’t chase invoices, it feels rude.”

Synthesis can wait. The quote cannot.

If you take notes in another tool, paste the gold line into capture before you close the laptop. One keystroke, no folder.

Turn the good ones into insights

An Inbox full of quotes is still a pile. Once or twice a week:

  1. Hit Start Flow from Inbox (or open the scribble if you prefer).
  2. Turn the ones that change your mind into a customer insight in Memory (C in Flow, or the button on the scribble).
  3. Archive the rest. You are not a court reporter.

Jordan does this in the product manager track. Alex does it as a founder after the same freelancer call - the line resurfaces whenever pricing or churn comes up.

Link the insight to the product decision it drove. Otherwise you have folklore (“customers want X”) with no receipt.

What Scribble Flow does here

  • Voice, text, or a support screenshot - just capture.
  • Classify and convert when you have ten minutes - make something of it.
  • Ask Memory later; answers come with sources.
  • After you ship the bet, write whether the quote was right.

This is not a VoC platform. It is how a small team stops losing the one sentence that mattered.

FAQ

Should I transcribe every call? No. Scribble Flow does not join meetings. Capture the line you would hate to lose.

What if I already use a feedback tool? Keep it for volume. Put the decisive quotes where you decide and ship.

Where is the template? The product decision template has a field for the triggering insight. The quote itself can be one scribble.
